Cal. 32 S or LRF. S# 401088. Bbl. 20 1/8". Model 6 single shot breechloading rifle mfg. by Remington. Top of the bbl. is marked with the Remington trademark logo above the cal. designation. Left side of the receiver is marked "MODEL 6" above the S# and Remington's mfg. information. Bbl. exhibits a blue finish overall. Small plain wood forearm and straight grip stock with Remington UMC logo flat steel buttplate. Dovetailed aluminum beaded blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver has faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Bbl. retains large amounts of its original blue finish, exhibiting scattered spots of light oxidation, as well as some patches of moderate pitting. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and small impressions from handling and storage, with the buttstock exhibiting a 1 5/8" crack along the top of the wrist. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick.
